  • Overview

    The Information Security Administrator helps transform the information security capability within the largest, most complex IT organization in WNY. Will help to create a more responsive, customer-focused experience by humanizing the critical moments and interactions.Will assist in implementing a continuous improvement workflow by incorporating the voice of the customer. The InfoSec team is under a crunch and they need help to get out of the daily jam, rationalize security request process, and make sure things aren't falling through the cracks.

    Responsibilities

    This is an Enterprise Information Security inbound contact triage role. Be the go-to person proactively monitoring inbound communications to EIS, including email, HPSA tickets, and “walk-up’s”. 

    • Create and track EIS issues through the HPSA ticketing system.
    • Work with the Information Security Department to develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices.
    • Manage connection security for local area networks, the company Web site, the company intranet, and e-mail communications.
    • Manage and ensure the security of enterprise databases.
    • Assess need for any security reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.
    • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts.
    • Work with the Information Security Department on defining policies for data retention and secure data disposal.
    • Providing effective network domain security management by following organizal policies and procedures.
    • Work with the Information Security Department on managing authentication and access methods requirements.
    • Work with end users and management to identify security risks or vulnerabilities and escalate to the Information Security management team.
    • Complete secuirity requests for system access priviledges.
    • Work within SLA to meet the changing demands of the business for new user creation and termination.
    • Other duties as assigned and requested.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 1 year supporting end users in a help desk role
    • Ability to maintain highly confidential information
    • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients at all levels

     

    Ideal Qualifications:

    • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

    Work Environment:

    • Frequently communicates with customers, both internally and externally who have inquiries about the status of their incident, request or scheduling.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    • The majority of the working hours will be spent in an office environment.
    • Light to moderate physical activity such as lifting may be required on occasion.
