    This is no ordinary role. As a Controller, you’ll be responsible for leading key initiatives for our team but you should be comfortable wearing many hats too. From rolling up your sleeves and digging in, to leading people and implementing new technology - the function is wide-open for innovation. This role reports directly to our CFO.


    As a key member of the Crossfuze team, you will be responsible for the effective management of the finance function, be the go to person to ensure our external/internal financial and tax reporting are accurately completed and own our reporting/financial planning.


    Your Accountability & Duties - Reporting


    • Ensure accurate and timely month end, quarterly and year end closes.
    • Prepare consolidated financial statements following Canadian and US GAAP filing requirements
    • Be responsible for overseeing all journal entries, adjusting entries and reconciliations
    • Ensure monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
    • Ensure compliance with Canadian & US GAAP requirements
    • Knowledge of government reporting requirements and tax filings
    • Work with our team on the business side of reporting - building out our financial growth models, revenue generation models and other models the executives can use to make better business decisions.
    • Responsible for all activities with reference to financial management and financial reporting including budgeting, project accounting, forecasting, cash management, and asset management
    • Prepare all required documentation to support financing needs
    • Administration of the company's accounting system to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and internal controls
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external reporting for our investors
    • Responsible for preparing working documents for year-end audit purposes
    • Acting liaison with external auditors
    • Responsible for developing and implementing specific financial models for effective management and decision- making purposes
    • Special projects as they arise.


    Skills & Experience


    • Direct compilation, preparation and review of company financial statements (consolidated balance sheet and income statement, statement of cash flows, department reports, and management/investor reports)
    • Financial reporting experience, including knowledge of best practices and procedures with proven thought leadership skills including ability to identify, lead and implement process efficiencies and value-added solutions
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with advanced knowledge of Excel
    • Experience preparing audits and working with external auditors
    • Aptitude to work with large amounts of data and to manage it effectively
    • Excellent communication skills - you have a way with words; can connect easily with others
    • You take a leadership role on tasks assigned to you and work effectively as part of a team
    • Highly organized time management skills - you’re able to juggle multiple priorities at once
    • A passion for constant improvement - always looking to do things better (both personally, as part of a team and for the company)
    • A strong problem solver with a positive attitude and excellent relationship management skills
    • You’re a self-starter, highly effective working independently and within a team


    • 8+ years experience, of which 2+ years are within a high tech, high growth start-up environment.
    • Experience and Knowledge with Transfer Pricing
    • CA Accounting Designation highly preferred
    • Must have working experience preparing statements in accordance with US/Canadian GAAP
    • Prior experience in implementing financial systems and associated controls.
